I am working on these notes. For now, I have just a few observations.
Some notes on the abuse case.
O.J. Simpson
should be the great hero of the ‘Battered Wives’ Society’ or whatever they call themselves; no matter how severely Nicole Brown attacked
him, he never hit her back. He ran away or held her down.
She made 911 calls. I understand Simpson only knew about three: in 1984, when she, when a police officer arrived, said it had
been a mistake, and the other two in 1989 and 1993. The transcript of the last one you find here so that you can see for yourself it makes no sense. (the 'roommate' she is referring to, later called 'the guy who lives out back' is Kato Kaelin, who was there
from beginning to end.) I’m afraid she hasn’t been the only person in history to have used the police to participate in dramatic
domestic scenes.
In 1989, when they were in their bedroom after a new years' party, Nicole attacked him and he worked her out of the room and locked it from the inside. She got hold of the key and came storming in again and he pulled her out of the room again. Later he thought he shouldn't have done that, he said "I could have handled that differently" probably meaning he could have run away. He took that so seriously himself that he promised he would tear up the prenuptial agreement if he would ever do that again, and even put that in writing.
I don’t know exactly what happened in that courtroom in ’89. I don’t even
know who was there. What I do know is that two police officers were lying.
The first was Mark Fuhrman. To prosecute
someone for spousal abuse without the victims’ consent there should be a history of abuse. So they used the ’84 incident,
Fuhrman claiming that her 911 call was about abuse. He said that he came to the house that night and talked to them about it. I
challenge Fuhrman to produce the report that should have been made of that visit.
The second was John Edwards. In the
report he made in ’89 he claimed that Nicole had a black eye and a bleeding lip. At the murder trial he testified that she had bruises
on her forehead and cuts on her nose and cheek. What kind of scene we are to imagine to go with that I don’t know, but obviously he
wanted to bring a knife into the picture. Not only did he contradict his own report but he was also contradicted by a hospital report.
When exactly Simpson learned about that report I don’t know. It turned out that she was taken to the hospital, where they saw
nothing but superficial bruises on her face and arms. He thinks he might be responsible for those on her arms, what caused those on
her face he doesn’t know. Anyway, this proves Edwards lied.
Obviously those two officers had an intense hatred for
Simpson. It has been proved in the murder trial that they were extremely racist; I don’t know if that is the only reason.
